[Activity]

The Church, according to Jesus Christ's command, carries out evangelical activity. Every year in the first days of July the Evangelization Week is organized in Dzięgielów. Besides evangelization activities in parishes, the so-called Church and mission days are also organized.


For catechization purposes children and the youth gather in especially designed for that kind of activity places; in bigger Evangelical communities schools. During holidays the Days of Good News are organized for children and holiday camps for the youth.

The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland takes care of lonely and ill people as well. The Church runs and maintains Nursing Homes in Dziegielow, Warsaw, Miechowice, Chylice and Wegrow. The lonely, the aged, the ill and the retarded find a quiet and warm home, helping hands and loving hearts in parish nursing homes.

New nursing homes: in Bielsko, Wieliczka, Bytom-Miechowice and Mikotajki were built. The main centre of charity work is the Female Diaconate in Dziegielow.

The publishing house of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland, called "Augustana", also works according to God's Word. "Augustana" issues a bi-weekly "Zwiastun Ewangelicki" ("The Herald") and books which are used by the Church in catechization and evangelization work. The voice of the Church is audible on public radio and television and also in many private local programmes eg in Bielsko, Opole, Suwalki etc.

The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland has belonged to the Lutheran World Federation since 1947, that is since the organization was founded. The Lutheran World Federation is an organization comprising Churches which believe in God in Three Persons, preach God's Word in the same way and have the unity of pulpit and altar. The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland shares the unity of pulpit and altar with the Evangelical-Reformed Church and the Evangelical-Methodist Church.

Our Church belongs to the Polish Ecumenical Council and the World Council of Churches. As a part of its ecumenical activities it also cooperates with the Roman-Catholic Church.
